As the Marine Life Conservation Society, our principle is to protect future marine life through scientific studies and projects using sustainable and fair methods.

About Us

The Marine Life Conservation Society was established on September 9, 2015, under the name Adalar Denizle Yaşam ve Spor Kulübü Derneği in Heybeliada. Until 2021, the society operated under the name Adalar Denizle Yaşam ve Spor Kulübü, but it underwent a rebranding process to align with more inclusive goals and has since adopted its current structure. To date, the society has been active in the Sea of Marmara, working on coral transplantation and protection of species endemic to the Mediterranean, removal of ghost nets from the seabed, biodiversity monitoring, protection of species and habitats, preservation of underwater culture and heritage, and activities in the fields of art and sustainable design.

The Marine Life Conservation Society was established on September 9, 2015, in Heybeliada under the name of the Islands Sea Life and Sports Club Association. Until 2021, the society operated under this name and then underwent a rebranding process to adopt its current structure, aiming for more inclusive goals. To date, it has engaged in various activities in the Marmara Sea, including the transplantation and conservation of corals endemic to the Mediterranean, the removal of ghost nets from the seabed, biodiversity monitoring, the protection of species and habitats, and the preservation of underwater culture and heritage.
